This Privacy Policy explains how Pear, a product of Iris Connect LLC ("Pear", "we", "us"), collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website and join our waitlist. By joining the waitlist, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Email address: submitted by you to join the waitlist. This alone is enough to join — everything below is optional.
Your waitlist answers: after joining, we ask which school you attend, which gender you identify with, and whether you would be willing to appear in a profile video. You may stop at any point; you stay on the list either way.
Referral code: if you arrived through someone's share link, the code in that link is stored alongside your signup. Share links you generate contain a short code derived from your own email address.
Basic technical data, collected automatically by our hosting provider (Cloudflare), such as browser type, device, and approximate location derived from your IP address.

Pear is a dating product, so the gender answer is collected in that context. Depending on where you live, information of this kind may carry additional protection under privacy law. Answering is optional, and you can ask us to delete any of it at any time — see "Your rights" below.

2. How we use your information

To notify you about Pear's launch and early access on your campus.
To decide which campuses to open first, and who to invite to create the first profiles when we do.
To send occasional product updates about the waitlist. You can opt out anytime.
To measure interest and improve the site.

3. Legal bases (where applicable, e.g. GDPR)

We process your email based on your consent and our legitimate interest in launching the product. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us operate this site: Loops (processes and stores waitlist submissions and sends waitlist emails) and Cloudflare (hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.

5. Data retention

We keep your email and your waitlist answers until Pear launches in your area plus 12 months, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to opt out of marketing. To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by law.

7. Cookies & tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising scripts. Our host, Cloudflare, may collect privacy-preserving aggregate traffic measurements; these do not use cookies and do not track you across sites. When you join the waitlist, your email is also written to your browser's local storage as a record on your own device — it stays there and is not transmitted to us. If we add analytics or advertising tools that identify individuals, we will update this section first.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Children

Pear is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. International transfers

Our service providers (Loops and Cloudflare) are based in the United States, so your information may be processed there. If you are visiting from the EU, UK, or elsewhere outside the US, check each provider's own data processing agreement for the transfer safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) they have in place.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
